Text Selection and Processing

When you highlight text and activate our extension functionality (e.g., via right-click "Read Aloud"), the selected text is sent directly to the Text-to-Speech (TTS) provider you have chosen (e.g., Google Cloud TTS, ElevenLabs, or your browser's native Web Speech API).

We do NOT intercept, store, or log the text you select or the audio generated by the TTS provider. This data is processed in real-time by the selected TTS service according to their respective privacy policies.

API Keys

If you opt to use premium TTS services (like Google Cloud TTS or ElevenLabs) that require an API key, these keys are stored securely ONLY in your browser's local storage. Your API keys are never transmitted to our servers, nor are they accessible by us. They remain entirely on your local machine.

Permissions

Our extension requires minimal permissions necessary for its functionality:

• Access to your data on all websites: This permission is required to allow you to select and send text from any webpage to the TTS providers. We only access selected text when the extension is explicitly activated by you.
• Context menus: This permission allows us to add the "Read Aloud" option to your right-click menu for convenience.
